We all have gifts and talents that we are born with. Some of us know the talents we have from a young age. Have you ever seen a child who can play a musical instrument by ear? Have you seen the child who can sing better than some of the contestants on American Idol? Someof us, do not realize what their God-given talent or gift are until later in life. The key word is realized. Life experiences help us realize what our gifts are and where our passions lie.
For me the gift of training, motivating and encouraging others was always there but, it was really developed until I came into the direct sales industry. I remember in my early days of my direct sales, we had monthly trainings early on a Saturday morning in Manhattan. There was a select few of us who would consistently be at the monthly meetings to set up and prepare for the guests and the business consultants. I was one that was consistently there. I loved the team trainings. I would get a rush because we knew that we were going to learn something new, have new people join the business, and I knew I’d be in the front of the room training on something. I loved it!
I was doing something I loved and the money did follow as my team grew and my team began to train the new consultants who came in the business. I now look back and I now realize that experience was to get me ready for this point in my life when I’m still training and I’m still in front of the room. This time it just happens to be that I’m the guest speaker, author and direct sales coach.
On Sunday, February 9, 2014 I was the guest speaker for a team of Pure Romance consultants. It was in the Bronx, NY in the team leader’s apartment and almost 4o women were in attendance. It was such a pleasure to be in front of group of women who were hungry for the information. They were listening and wanted to hear what I had to share. The room was filled to standing room only and they learned a lot and I was blessed with the opportunity to share with them. They were filled with information and I was filled with gratitude for my gift and my talent that God gave me.
What is your gift or talent?
Ways To Discover Your Talent
- What do people come to you for help with?
- What comes easy to you?
- What brings you joy?
- What topic do you LOVE to talk about?
- Ask people close to you- people around you realize your talent before you do.
Find that thing that you are amazing at. You have people waiting on you to share that gift. If you already know what your gift is, then please share it. Don’t wait one minute longer, we need you to share it with you neighbors, friends, community, and the world.
I shared with the group my “Go Big of Go Home dream”. I can visualize my goal of speaking and motivating on stage at a large convention filled with thousands of people. I can almost smell, touch, and taste it! I can’t wait until this vision and goal comes true. When it does I will remember being in an apartment in the Bronx and feeling the same way, complete joy to share my gifts and talents with those 40 women.
